There are two
rocks in front of the old buildings at the east end
of Forward Harbour with Petroglyphs on them. These
rock dry at a medium tide.
To make these rock carvings stand out, we sprinkle
flour into the groves and lightly whisk the excess
off.
Click on the pictures to inlarge them and click "back" to return here.
One of the former owners of the upland property made
a collage of all the rock carvings at this site.
There is a lot of controversy around taking rubbings
of Petroglyphs. If you do...use wet canvass, push
it into the groves with your fingers and go over it
lightly with a charcoal stick. Do Not use
paint or anything that will damage these artefacts.
Watch for Grizzly bears on the grass flats at the
end of the bay.
